Hello to you all, I been about a bit as a Caravanner, (some 30 years) and have now taken the plunge and traded in for a small Motorhome. As most tuggers do, I could not figure out the advantage of having to pack up and leave the pitch when you go for a day out, I guess I will get use to that and change the way we do things. Only had the MH for just over a week and I think I can safely say I'm going to enjoy it. Any advice from other converts will be gratefully received. Nice to see other Motorhomers waving whilst on the road, I remember doing that as either a member of the AA or as a caravanner......both years ago, and sadly no more!
Look forward to being an active member of the site, lots to it and still looking around it.
Regards. Pete Penfold

Welcome to the site
The waving thingy you get used to, but bit odd if you didnt know about it - makes you think previous owners knew a lot of people !!!!! LOL

As a lone Motorhomer I get a real feeling of not being so alone when someone waves to me, so lets hope it never dies out I too was a tugger for a while and a tenter before that and must admit I still think twice about taking the van somewhere when on site, its not that it is a hassle, just I cannot seem to get out of the mind set

Having come from a camping then Caravan background. - We like an awning to sit out in
So got a drive away awning
So e
we off load stuff we dont want to either stow away or carry with us when we go out
Just got bike racke fitted & am taking the with us in a few weeks to Holland
I think you will like the fredom once you have had a few nights out
We find it easier to park up when we get home
Its also great when you are out for a day trip to be ble to turn on the gas & cook a meal

Feels a little odd to welcome someone to a site that you've only joined yourself less than 24 hours ago! However I can see myself getting addicted to this site pretty quickly. It's nice to communicate with other enthusiasts. We are also new to motorhoming although we have our RV a year. My husband would not pull a caravan which is why we opted for the RV, little did he know I would land home with a 28 footer!! But I drive it as much as he does so he can't complain! It's a great way to travel and there seems to be a lot of comaraderie among owners. Enjoy your new toy!
regards

Hi Pete, and a belated welcome to you Arizona, I'm sure you'll both enjoy the camaraderie on the site. Lots of old tuggers (did I spell that right?) on here but now fully converted. We also have an Avantegarde 200 Pete after changing from the 100.
