Dave, What bit is confusing.
We have 3 tv's in the van
1. Flip down cab TV
2. Lounge TV (front)
3. Bedroom TV (rear)
Now come on Dave, concentrate, YOU can do it
As a radio ham, you should now about these things

A sign of the times?

We're just starting to consider whether to put a TV in the van when travelling!

Dennis can you confirm a few points

Have you only tried the one location away from home or do you get the same results at more than one place?

We have a 12v Sky box working via a Camos dome in a locker with a Freeview box. The TV runs off an inverter. The TV in the lounge area works fine. The lead coming from the Sky box goes into a splitter with a feed to the front TV and another feed to the rear TV. The Freeview box is connected to the Status aerial with the output to the flip down cab tv only.

So there are no Freeview feeds to the front and rear TVs, only satellite feeds?

I set everthing up at home and it works perfectly. We went away for the weekend and the rear TV would not give a good Sky picture.

I take it that the reception on the front TV with the satellite feed from the splitter was fine?

Flicking through the TV channels I could pick up most Freeview channels in poor quality WITHOUT the Freeview box connected to front or rear tv's (it's only connected to flip down tv)

I'm treating this as a red herring, it is only confusing matters and appears to be nothing to do with reception on the rear TV which is totally independent from Freeview or is there some kind of distribution box in circuit bringing the two, satellite and Freeview systems together?

Do both front and rear TVs run off inverters?

The fact that it works at home indicates a local problem when away, apparently not the power source and I am left thinking it maybe interference either external to the motorhome or from something within the motorhome that is not running when at home??????

I admit Dennis' 'explanation' of his system connection diagram leaves much to the imagination Smile I never figured out whether the Freeview and Sky systems were connected at ANY point.
