I'm keen on a year 2000 40-10 (what does 40-10 mean?) Iveco Daily 2.8 Turbo Diesel Minibus (12 seater) that is for sale that would make a nice self build MH/camper.
Does anyone know where I might find such info. as internal measurements so that I can start planning the internal layout?
Also, does anyone have an Iveco MH or stories relating to this make of vehicle, pros and cons type stuff?
Thank you tuftey. Is one deemed better than the other (35-10, 40-10)? Same engines? If so, would the suspension and other bits be uprated the heavier the axle weight?
Thanks for sharing Paul. The LWB one would suit me fine! The one I'm bidding on (Ebay) is a minibus with an electric/air door and no passenger seat, you enter the vehicle from there. The seating banks across are 2, a walk way then a single seat. I'm hoping a single mattress can be laid end ways. It's a 2.8 T/diesel..... what's your opinion? OK on fuel economy?
They are a good size van, But will you be able to drive it in its present form ie minibus (12 seats) you will have to have it deregulated from a psv first . mpg 18-20
Hi Shane, mine is the 2.8 td and I get 27 mpg (not hanging around) and acelerating up most hills in top gear with ease. Both the 2.5 & 2.8 are Soffin type engines and are fitted to Renault masters as well.I used to get 31 mpg untill I fitted the roof box.My only concern with your choise of van is the amout of windows / glass, then again you won't have to buy any camper van ones at around 200 / 300 each depending on size
terry
what is the number on ebay i sold 1 like that on there here it was a n reg fully converted and it only got 1901 yours you are bidding on sounds like mine they are easy to convert because it a big open space to work with
we get 25 to 28 mpg when we do a run to spain in ours at 65mph
there are a few problems with them
1 throttle cable sticks under the wheel arch you need to keep oiled very often
2 regular oil changes or you have real problems with engine
3 bodywork needs to be looked after specially wheel archs
