I think Colonel is getting confused with freesat. As I understand it Free
Sat is a system on its own where FTA (Free to Air) is supplied by various satellite receivers. (Does that make sense?)

We have a Sky+ box at home and also have a FTA box (mains only) bought from our local BricoDepot, we also have another FTA box (12v/240v) bought from Maplins, we use this one in the motorhome and find it is a lot easier to get a signal than either of the other two.

We now use a Omnimax Semitronic dish (only because it was on the van when we bought it) and we also have a normal Sky minidish on a tripod that we can use if we have a problem where there are trees.

We are in the Satellite TV business so I do know exactly what freesat is and it is no benefit to you to buy a freesat box especially if it is 230v. The maplin /lidl silvercrest box comes with a built in sounder to help you find the satellite. It also has a really nice interface and the secret with them is to scan for channels when you get to a far away location then simply view what you can then see on the screen. What a fuss is being made about freesat but it still is lacking much sport and we find setanta is a must for us. I am sure it will get sport channels but you will get them just as good on the silvercrest box in a motorhome.

Maybe you can answer my question. - Sorry if this is slightly off topic but can't resist the opt. We have an Oyster 85cm dish with Sky Pace 12v digibox. Very happy with it, receives all channels - inc Setanta - but not Sky Sports. Hmm. Why not?

Do you actually subscribe to Sky Sports? If not, that's your problem. Is Setanta a subscription service as well.
