I have read the reviews of the Camos and in the main like what I read but I do not like the large bump.
I thought I had read in MMM that there is now a low profile dome but I cannot find any reference to it in the mags now. Does anyone know anything about or am I mistaken?
Any info much appreciated as our Oyster system won't fit on the roof of new van because of solar panels and Heki but my husband likes his TV.
CAMOS do a 30cm high dome as well as the 40cm high one. It reduces the bulge AND the satellite footprint but it may be a better compromise for you. Depends where you go how frequently!
2) As to the KVH A7, it combines a steerable phased array with 280 antenna elements on a flat plate which then also mechanically tilts up to 15 degrees. It is designed solely for the DIRECTV satellites at 72,101,110,117 deg West.
I looked into the Raysat thing, but was not sure about the product, and as Dave points out, their website makes no mention of the UK.
However, I seem to think that Bill is a member of MHF so maybe he will be along shortly to advise further...
Meanwhile, in the high winds last night, I enjoyed watching SKY tv via the Camos. As for it's appearance, I can't see the dome from anywhere in the van! What other people think of it is their business.

We travel western Europe but mainly UK, France, Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
Will a 30cm Camos dome work in these areas?
As an aternative to the Camos if we put the Oyster system back on but with a smaller dish (that is if there is enough room) will it get a signal is the above areas.
I recently used my Camos 40cm in France as far east as Strasbourg, and also through Switzerland it was possible to receive BBC and ITV. The BBC and ITV signals dropped out near the Italian border, but channel 5 and SKY were ok.
The 30cm and the 40cm relates to the height of the thing. As far as I know, both the 30 and 40cm models occupy the same surface area. The dome is abour 70 cm across and sits on the roof.
Your Oyster occupies a larger surface area, but the amount of area in contact with the roof is much less. I think you should check and double check that selling the Oyster and replacing with something else with solve your roof issues. The Oyster when closed sits a few cm high and as such, maybe, just mabe it could partially obscure a roof vent or something.
