To get extra channels on Algarve with Sky Digibox:-

SERVICES
to get to installer menu press 401 then SELECT
DEFAULT TRANSPONDER then SELECT
change transponder settings to 12129 V 27.5 2/3 (take note of existing settings)
SAVE NEW SETTINGS

Our home system about 20 miles inland from Fuengirola has a 1.3m dish and still we lose some channels occasionally. We used to use a 1.2m and that could pick up the Astra 2D transponders most of the time but not aas reliable as the 1.3m. Perhaps this puts the whole reception business in perspective. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I heard from someone, somewhere amazing reports from using a lidl/aldi dish mounted on a washing line tripod from argos........Might work! lol! At least if you are in the mountains, you could put it on your roof for added height! Wink

The Astra satellite is about 25000 miles above the earth. Your tongue in cheek suggestion for putting your dish on the roof is hilarious. LOL.
