We have an Iveco. I always thought Iveco was linked to Ford, until we bought Our Coral, as per avatar.
Yes, it's a Fiat X2/50 with an IVECO engine!
Keep doing your homework!

Hi UncleNorm,I cannot see from your avatar, but Fiat X2/50 is a completely different thing from iveco. They are badged Ford in UK but essentially Fiat without the problems of the newer vans.
terry
We have an Adria Coral, as per avatar, on an X2/50 Fiat chassis, with a 2.3L 130 bhp multi-jet engine, which has the word IVECO stamped boldly on it.
Our local FIAT agent is also a FORD and an IVECO agent. Wheels within wheels!

Iveco was originally created from a coalition of small European manufactures like Scammel. Fiat was always a big shareholder, but now they own it outright. However, they seem to work pretty much as separate companies. The network of 'Iveco Service' centres in Europe is huge and I've had great experiences in both France and Sicily. You could have eaten your dinner off the Sicilian workshop floor and I watched all the work being done.
I have a 1999 49-12 and previously had a '99 Ducato. The engines are just about identical and I guess made in the same factory. Just about everything else is different with all the chassis up to 5200kgs sharing most components.
My only gripe is that some old or low-volume parts can be ludicrously expensive and/or available as complete units.
