Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have are did have a type 3 VW

I don't know what or who did the conversion.

We have a bed that does not get in the way of the kitchen area (its not the rock and roll type bed) the roof is a plastic pop top with a oval window each side.

Odd thing is that it as been fitted with spirit levels looks like at the time of the conversion

Has you enter the sliding door there is a little wardrobe and gas fire to the left of the sliding door behind the front passenger seat
It looks a very professional conversion

Can you help please

j

I have a type T25 'Devon Moonraker', or if you like a type 3 although the VW fastback car is usually referred to as a type 3.

The type 25/3 was the obvious successor to the 'splitty' and 'bay type' a very popular vehicle to carry out a conversion on.

Some of these converters were Westphalia, Devon, Leisuredrive, Autohomes, Autosleepers, Reimo and Holdsworth to name but a very few.

There is also a plethora of DIY conversions as well as numerous small firms carrying out bespoke conversions.

If yours doesn't have a converters plate/sticker on it, then it's entirely possible that it is a 'home made' conversion.

Whatever the make, be happy, and enjoy your van.

Post a pic and see if anyone can recognise it.

Hi Texas, i haven`t come across the convertors plate or sticker, dont want to sound thick, which i will, but where would these be located on the van, i haven`t come across this type of layout before, which i find really strange because i must have looked at thousands over the years and i find this design really good use of space, anyway thanks for your reply, happy traveling!

Hi Jess,

Could well be an early 'westfalia', these had a totally different layout instead of the usual 'furniture down the side' of most conversions, have a look here...

My converters stick-on 'plate' is located on the bottom half of the nearside 'B' pillar, beneath the seat belt tensioner box.
