Hi wilse
You don't say where you are at ?
But when this happened to us with our crank up...we usually tried a little lower and a fraction to the left of the german one.
Hope this helps
regards

hello
i also have the maxview crankup, you will probably need to alter your elevation slightly, then move slowly through the area of astra 28 degrees
Sometimes the van is a little off level,
i used to have the same diffs but now can find it within a few minutes.dont despair
kind regards
damien purcell
hi wilse ,i had the same problem when i first got my maxview ,so dont despair , it also depends on your reciever as well , i got a dream box and that made things easier , keep on trying ,i made a little mark on mine when i found the astra 28 , regards gary
I'm thinking of putting a crank up on my MH but I would invest in ( £10 ??) a satellite meter - wouldn't I ?? - so why don't these numpties do that - or are they using said meters and they're not very good - the meters that is -not the numpties
But isn't the meter process the same the world over:
1. Skew antenna laterally to peak deflection on meter
2. Lock lateral movement and skew vertical to peak deflection on meter.
3. Lock vertical movement
4 Go to 1.
5. Repeat 2 to 3 until no further improvement in peak deflection
5 Switch to o/p to tuner - is this the channel you want ??

Meters don't work like magic Harry.
They find a signal OK, but they don't tell you which satellite it's coming from, and can create more problems than they solve if you are convinced (wrongly) that you are onto the right satellite.
If you are using a Sky receiver, without an inline audio satellite finder, there will be a delay between finding the signal, and it showing up on your screen.
22 degrees elevation at 28.2 degrees East. We are only about 80 miles from you. Just lower slightly from the current elevation. If worse, just increase the elevation slightly again. You must be almost there. Start with the dish facing East, and train it slowly round towards the South, and at 22 degrees elevation, Astra 2 should be the first satellite that you come across.
We have a Technomate receiver now, and the signal is instant. The audio Sat finder is now redundant.
HTH,
Jock.
