As part of our Grand European Adventure that starts on 16th May we are going to be visiting Croatia. The only thing is that we dont know where to go whilst in the country?

Entering the country from Slovenia in the North, the plan was to head all the way down to Dubrovnik and then get a ferry from here to Italy (Bari) to continue the 'Adventure'. But we have only set aside a week for Croatia and Im worried that this may be too far?

Maybe we should just get to Zadar and get a ferry from here to Ancona?

What does everyone think? Having absolutely no knowledge of Croatia, are we missing out on anything by not getting all the way down to Dubrovnik?

Thanks in advance

Jules

hi Jules
spent some weeks in Croatia last year. Beautiful coastal and mountain scenery. Many interesting villages and towns - with a wealth of history ancient and recent. People are extremely friendly. The further south you go, the fewer campsites there are.
Just double check your insurance as there is a small area of Bosnia Herzegovina which touches the coast for about 20 or 30 kms., which our insurance company informed us they would not cover us to drive through.
Lots of people just ignore this {their own choice] but it is wise to check. If you do go Dubrovnik is very beautiful if a bit over restored. Montenegro is also stunning but very poor.
