I know that on a Sky box you cannot get them without a card

Are you quite sure about that? Have you tried recently?

Must admit, I haven't tried without a card so I'm not sticking my neck out but AFAIK C4 should be unencrypted and I think I'm right in saying that C5 is now the same. Sorry to be so vague but I don't watch them much and can't be bothered pulling the card from one of the Sky boxes just in case it gets its wotsits in a twist afterwards.

Channels 4 and 5 were un-encrypted in November 2008 so saddletramp was nearly right, just a bit behind the times, but then aren't most of us? Shocked Shocked

Now that solves what I thought was a bit of luck.

What I always do is before I go anywhere I park unit at home erect sat dish and let card update (Get Ch4 & 5 ) That is if I haven't used it for a few weeks.

In January I fetched it home and plugged lecky in to get it all full, erected Sat dish and put TV on Ch 4 to update and hey presto it worked so I thought I had caught it in time, so I switched it off and left it, Thinking I was a bit lucky.

Now I know I am still an unlucky sod. Laughing

Could somebody point me in the right direction, I also have the SILVERCREST SL 65/12 box and have no problems with ch 4 & 5 but cannot find BBC 4. I have looked for ch 6316 but haven't got that either. Found BBC 3 ok under BBC Tes 3.
Should add I am referring to TV channels and not radio.

thanks

Have now solved above problem. BBC 3 + 4 comes under Cbeebies and CBBC, so, that raises another question, is it possible to rename channels on a Silvercrest SL 65/12 box.
