Hiya am currently investigating satellite TV, but am useless at the techno whoosits!! If I bought one of these dome ones could I (well not I cos am useless but Gav!!) fit it??? Have seen that they apparently have four legs and are stuck down with sickyflex and only need holes for the wires, is this right???? Sounds kinda dodgy! If this isn't right then does anyone know anyone near Glasgow who would fit one cos am too scared of the drilling!!!!
Thank you and apologies in advance for my stupidity!
You can stick them with Sikaflex but I recommend at least a screw in each corner as well for extra security and peace of mind. You still need a hole for the wires though as you correctly say.
If you get stuck then you can always drive down the M6 to Cheshire and I will fit it for you (for a very resonable fee )
Trevor

Yes I know it's Ebay, but he/she is in Glasgow and in the Satellite game so might be of some use, and there is even a phone number, so you don't have to sit and wait for a reply.
It is so easy todo. Vanbitz did mine in less that a day. I would have fitted it myself but was frightened of getting duffed up but the missus. She prefers the roof does not have day light in or something picky she said. Oh Yes. I remember. She wants to keep the roof.
I had a Camos 40" Dome fitted earlier this year by Leisure Tech in Clitheroe Lancs. I think the whole thing fitted, with a receiver so all I had to do was switch it on and watch tele was around £1500 (they may be a bit more now). It is fantastic. Its stuck to the roof and there is just one hole for a cable. They mounted the receiver and a Max View free to air thing inside the wardrobe with a little magic eye poking through to the lounge that works the remote controls. Its a bit of a hike for you unless you want to make a trip of it but the chaps at Leisuretech were excellent and I think from memory they were quite competitive as well. Drop them an email.
Hey up you attention seeking again! Its a girl question so you are forgiven and you nearly blonde in a ginger kinda way!
Would you like Drew to bring his power tool up to Dunbar for you and drill loads of holes in your roof?
He good driller and things stay up when he puts them up too!

Barry will look up leisure tech ta!
Trev hunny is cheshire near Glasgow
Pusser erm ta for that, I too would prefer a roof with no holes in it, am liking it whole!!!
Hi there - my dish is stuck on with Sikaflex and no issues at all. I think the weight & wind resistance of the dish would have to be taken into account.
Mine is a manual dish so 'reasonably' light and lays almost flat to the roof when down.
Ours is the same as David's (above). "Geoflex" actually, from Snelly, but very similar stuff. No screws needed in my opinion. Just try removing the stuff!!!!
Our dish is a Maxview Crankup. Far cheaper than a dome, and has a bigger dish than most domes so works a lot further South (or East).
It usually takes me all of a minute to get a lock on the satellite, and although it can't be used in high winds (the only real drawback) it ticks all the other boxes for us.
I fitted it myself, and when I had changed my underwear after drilling the hole in the roof ( ) it was easy. You, or more likely Gav , would need to follow the instructions pretty carefully as a couple of measurements are rather precise, but if he can build Meccanno he can fit a Maxview.
