We had a Maxview Crank up on the last van and now we have a Camos dome on this one.

The Crank up is ok but you sometimes do have to faf about for a bit to get a picture and it means a big hole through the roof and the control thing on the inside of the roof of your van.

The Camos. is stuck on and only one little hole for a cable. It is as easy to use as turning a light switch on and can be taken of to fit another van if/when you sell you current van. Also it can be used in very windy conditions (might be important up your way) If you have kids you can get an inmotion one like we have and they can watch the TV while traveling, no more are we there yet Very Happy

Only down side is the cost Sad Sad Sad

We would not have another crank up after having a Dome, also worth looking at is the KVH dome.

Richard...

We were out in a force 8 gale right on the coast and it was really gusty as well. The TV never flickered once with the Camos Dome. Some say they wont work as far south as a Dish but the claims for the 40" dome go as far as northern spain and well across Europe. Not tried it abroad yet but will be soon as we are hopefully off in a few weeks time for 2 months. I agree they are quite expensive at £1500 but we watch tele a lot, especially in the winter and I was sick of turning up somwhere, connecting my crappy status aerial to the TV only to find we had 5 channels of snow. I think ours came with a 5 year warranty, first two years is onsite as well, including Europe. According to Leisure Tech they can easily remove it and site it on a new van for you if you change vehicle.
