Our new to us Van has a very slow draining shower, washbasin and sink and have tried the lot to see if they have a blockage but nothing seems to shift it and the shower in particular is very slow draining and thinking we have pipes that are too narrow. Has anyone changed them for wider ones? and if so is it a mega jobby? The previous owner am thinking was a bit lacking in either maintenance or its a just a general deadlegs problem.

Have you done that plungy thing???? Dunno if can use caustic soda but it good for drains, mind you possibly not for mohos!! Useless suggestions I know but happy to help!!!
I think the question that needs to be asked is whether the slow draining causes a problem? If you are using the shower and then the shower tray overflows, then yes, there is an issue.
In respect of chaning the drain pipes, this could be tricky. You might end up replacing things like plug waste drains too etc.
The pipes on my van are a simple push on type and so these would be easy to remove for cleaning etc. If yours are the same, it might be worth a closer look for a blockage.

Our Hymer was particularly reluctant to drain the shower - until I realised that levelling was critical. Any tendency for "nose-down" prevented the drain from working properly (though it didn't get so bad as to overflow). Level, or slight "nose-up", and all is sweetness and light!
ooh never thought of that it is a bit nose down mostly that could be the problem but its hard work lifting it even with ramps. Note to self must buy spinach!
Do you have an inspection hatch below the shower?
Our Chausson had a very slow draining basin and shower tray. When I removed the the cover below the shower tray drain fitting, I found that the tubing went uphill
I undid the connection to the tank and gently pulled the tubing (while other half kept hold of the drain end) toward the tank, and managed to trim off 4 inches of excess tube
Both now drain a treat.
We had a slow draining washbasin, often did not drain. If your ran some water into the sink to say 1/3rd full, the water would just sit there until we ran more water into it. The weight/pressure then forced it away. Not good if you are trying to conseve water.
I looked at the pipe routing in the double floor, a real pain as on a Eura Mobil Mercedes it is only about 70% of the normal height of a low chassis Fiat. I noticed at one point the flexible drain tube was raised slightly. I lowered it by just 1" and it cured the problem. Now drains easily.
