I have a rather weird stalling problem with my 2L diesel. It is fine until it has been going an hour or so. Then when I am slowing down for a junction or roundabout and put my foot on the clutch - phut - I have no power. Terribly embarrassing especially when you are trying to find your way round a strange town at rush hour on the Friday before half term and a bank holiday . I could practically hear the screams of "woman driver".
It didn't do it in the winter, so it seems to be heat related, tho the engine was not overheating.
Any ideas?
Thanks Andrea.

Hi Andrea, try cleaning up the
contacts and connector on the fuel stop solenoid, if this is occillating it would interupt the fuel supply.
When did you last change the fuel filter ?

Never done it in my life - rely on garage to do that sort of thing as and when necessary. Thanks for the reply. In the meantime the garage seem to have solved it (I wasn't very hopeful cos of it being intermittent). They found a pinprick hole in a pipe which was letting in air. Presumably this got bigger when it was hot. So far it has not stalled and is starting much better as well. Fingers crossed that is sorted.
They also haven't charged me while I check it has done the trick - unhead of in my experience .CD Friends in Bury St Edmunds.
Andrea.
