I was rather surprised to get flashed by two speed cameras whilst in France. I shall probably be even more suprised when I get fined.

The first one I got flashed by was odd in as much as I was doing less than the speed limit as I had deliberately slowed down to read a road sign that was ahead.. The second one that flashed me I was doing 80mph in a 110kmph limit. Other French cars were whistling past these cameras at speeds well in excess of the speed limit and seemed unconcerned.

This may be of help to anyone going to France.

I should add that I was driving a car in case anyone thought I had Two Loos La Trek tuned up by Maclaren.

The cameras I saw were both black and would be fairly obvious if you were looking out for them as they are stuck low down at barrier height in the middle of the motorway.

I'm still waiting to be done when I was caught by a speed camera in my home town by a police van quite a while ago now. Had one letter and heard nothing since. Sad

Good to have you back, Pusser, and sorry you were 'flashed at' - if you go to St Tropez instead, the 'flashing' gets a bit more agreeable (or should that be 'agreable'?)...

I'm here Pusser, welcome back and so glad you had a good "uneventful" holiday.........or was it ?
Certainly sorry to hear you fell foul of the speed traps.
