ok took longer than anticipated as i found some bugs in the new software but these have been chased down and dealt with.

http://www.motorhomefacts.com/modules.php?name=Motorhome_Sales is the url for the new software and has been updated in the header navigation section

The new section has been updated by firstly a paid developer and then tweaked on top of that by me Smile

The biggest change is the "addition" of Paid adverts, note i said addition as "Subscribers" still get FREE Adverts

The way it works is that I have added in an extra tier of advert called "Featured" which allows you to upload 5 images (and a thumbnail) instead of the FREE ad single image, the Featured Ads also show higher in search results for the classifieds section and are shown randomly on the front page of the classifieds section also.

Featured Adverts cost as follows:-
30 days - £5
90 days - £10
6 months - £15
1 Year - £20

Advert fees are processed by Paypal which allows you to pay using a Paypal account or even directly with a Credit / Debit Card if you don't already have a paypal account.

So to re-iterate a Subscriber can submit either FREE adverts or pay to upgrade to a featured listing, a non subscriber only gets the choice of a Featured listing.

Adverts are viewable by Any visitor to MHF, i.e. Subscriber, member, or simple anonymous viewer which allows greater publicity for your adverts.

The other big changes to this section are as follows:

Revamped graphics / icons throughout
Quick Search bar (can be toggled on and off to reduce screen space)
Search keywords / tags
More contact fields added (Telephone / Mobile / Name etc)
City / County fields (intention is to allow searching within your locality once enough new ads have been put into the new section)
Company Name / Logo can now be added by Traders. This will allow Dealers to upload adverts which are branded. (Only available for Featured ads)
Company Name field is searchable, this allows you to search just for adverts from a nearby or favourite Dealer for instance.
Bulk uploading facility. This hasn't been fully enabled / tested yet but the idea behind it is that Motorhome Dealers would be able to upload a specially formatted csv file and add multiple ads at once.

With all these new facilities and addons I hope that MHF will become not only THE place to list your motorhome for sale ads, but also the place for Dealers to come to place their adverts also (With possible customers running into the 100,000s where else would be better Wink )

If you find any bugs in the new section then let me know so I can work to resolve them.

Just to add to the thread that have now configured the for sale section that Featured adverts get twice the length of description field Vs Free adverts

I have now created a front page block on the site (right hand column) that shows last 3 submitted adverts (This will be modified to only show featured adverts once enough are in the system) This will give maximum publicity to submitted adverts Smile

I've added an image to my "Mobile 7 in 1 TV/DVD" but it doesn't show on the 'Show Details' page.....perhaps it isn't meant to??

The main heading on the front page is 'BUY' "Motorhomes for Sale".....an idiots guide should say "MHs and accessories For Sale"

I've just had a quick squint at the (class A) pages and think I've noticed a bug.

A number of the asking prices seem to be wrong

eg £34.00, £30.00, £25.00 and £15.00
