Hello Folks,
have got myself the dreaded Yeild manager Trojan. Not effected to the stage where it keeps bringing up weird and wonderful pop ups, but, it pops up with...
see picture attached - every time I go into Yahoo mail and each time I visit a new site.
I have done the usual, run every anti virus I have which is about 5 - nowt! each of them congratulate me on having no nasties.
I also downloaded Hijack to look for :-
O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - c:\windows\system32\BAE.dll
as someone suggested but it´s not there, nor is anything suss in my Programmes folder.
Am at a loss. Computer is definitely running slower and I could cook a three course meal waiting for it to shut down.
Otherwise Google "Yield Manager" and you will get a number of other suggested remedial sites.
McAfee are usually pretty good, and may have a specific removal tool for this virus. If they have, you just download and run it and it will clear out the intruder.
Sorry I can't check out McAfee for you but I have to dash off in a minute. It's pretty straightforward though.
Dave
Edit. Damn keybroad!!!

Thanks Dave,
followed instructions to clear it from IE, but alas it does not show as being in there, I did the same for Firefox which I am using when the ¨lurgy¨ seems to appear most, but it is not in there either. I really cannot afford to pay out for Mcfee.
Do a google for "Bleeping computer" forum. Sign yourself up, read the instructions & make a post in the appropriate section. You will recieve assistance from someone that knows what they're doing & how to go about removing your infection.
It's important not to make a lot of changes to your PC in the interim. BC forum have lots of different tools for use with Windoze to deal with problems like yours.
Went to Mcfee site, no tool to remove Yieldmanager.
Joined Bleeping computer forum - eventually after they told me my email address was already being use - so was my password and sign in name - huh? never even heard of the site let alone joined it!! anyway, posted problem, loads of views but not one reply, am no further forward than yesterday - well at least computer had not blown up yet, perhaps buggy thing will just get fed up and go away on it´s own!!! oooh look there goes another of those pink, oinking flying things!
