Having trawled through the Kipor/Honda debate and noted that Planet generators are being actively promoted by at least one supplier, I have not yet seen any testimonials for the Planet generator (apart from Outdoor Bits who sell them).

Have any forum users bought a Planet generator yet?

If so, what is the feeling about reliability and build quality?

Cheers

LGC

As you say, a post from a customer, not a vendor would be a start.
We really need to hear from someone who has used one for a few years to come to any valid conclusions though. How long have they been around?

Well I've got something similar to on of THESE. Not sure it's the same as I bought mine off Fleabay, but visually it looks identical.

As I've said on other threads, it's horses for courses really. I only got it to power Sandra's hairdryer & emergency charge the batteries so don't use it much ("THANK THE LORD" I hear you shout!!), but it starts up first time every time, & is definately quiet enough.

I'm not sure how long it will last but then again for £120 you can't complain.

Mine just says it's a Trent Power 1000w (max) unit.

I'm not sure if that helps you or not

I was talked into giving up my Honda 1000 that we use to run the lights on the Van Bitz exhibition unit at the Stratford show, into using a Planet 3 (3000 watts) and powering the whole exhibition unit.

I say talked into, because Simon that owns Planet Generators is my Son!

We were really pleased with it as it ran Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, running, well pretty much everything to be honest.

We could still talk to our customers and demonstrate things so the noise was fine.

It has made us think if we want to keep spending circa £100 for electricity at shows to be honest.

Never used Kipor so have nothing to add to this post, but if you search on the forums you should get an opinion about reliability.

Eddie

Interesting market strategy, don't challenge 'The Daddy', keep to the middle ground and challenge the wee Kipper. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Hi, I am sorry you are unhappy, please send me an email. simon@planetgenerators.co.uk
With the loss of Alex from the company, it has upped the work load a lot. He did a lot for us it seems!
In regards to the phones, we strive to answer them as quickly as possible, but as we are Dealers, Importers and Manufacturers we do get lots of people calling us!
I have given you my direct email, if you can get something over to me I will strive to get is sorted quickly for you.
Many thanks
Simon
