Hi. I recently bought a used 05 Dethleffs Advantage. There wasn’t a users guide with it, but I’ve figured out how most things work. However there is one item that has me baffled. In the TV cabinet, beside the hella power socket, there is a coaxial cable which disappears into the wall behind the bathroom. It looks like it was factory fitted. I presume it is possible to attach an aerial to the other end. But I can’t find the other end! I guessed it must eventually appear on the roof or the side of the camper. However a thorough search has left me empty handed. Anyone have any suggestions where I might look? Thanks. Question

Is there a circular blanking plate about 200mm dia on the roof of your MH?
It is possible that the cable was put in on the production line, but the aerial is an 'optional extra' that was not fitted, or has been removed post manufacture.
I had an aerial on my MH but removed it as the performance was nbg, and fitted a blanking plate instead.

Try looking for it in the top of one of the high lockers / in the top of a cupboard (below where you might put the arial).
Ours (not the same make or anything) has this, and also some speaker wires that end up in the dash.

No, it's not a typing error but that was a guess from memory. The status aerial external blanking plate is big, in fact it is 185mm dia, which is the same diameter as the aerial base. I assume it is designed to withstand the wind pressure generated by the vehicle travelling at a fair speed into a headwind.

Think you'll find that coax wire is connected to the connector in the tv cupboard. They are put in so you can install an aerial or dish, drop wire into wardrobe, connect up to the "mystery" coax and not have to run a wire across your motorhome to the tv cupboard.

Hi Martybike

This is quite common on Rapidos and Burstners, the other end on these are normally in the bottom of the wardrobe, I am not sure if it is the same on a Dethleff but may be worth a look

Thanks for all your replies. Indeed I did find the 'other end' in the wardrobe, hidden behind our hanging shelves. It all makes sense now!
