Hi Stew,

Actually it was Mac that had the first Windows and MS copied them and coined the phrase Windows! So there Stew!

New MacBook Pro 17" is awesome! Getting excited about the SSD drive which should be installed in a day or so.

Regards

Chris

Although I am not in your league, we have just got a second hand Powerbook G4 to replace the iBook G4. The new machine has a go faster gizmo in it and I am just able to keep up with it Shocked ( I haven't tried to open 860 W******s in it yet though).

Long live the Macs 'cos I can use them.

Sue

Commercially maybe, but Xerox Parc were using a windows GUI a decade earlier. Very Happy

Unfortunately, there are still one or two applications that I like running under XP which have no Mac equivalent, so I use a MPB with parallels 4.0. Embarassed

Pedant mode on: it was actually Xerox who used 'windows' first, in their Alto desktop computers. Steve Jobs saw them & decided Apple should go that way too, as did MS.

Pedant mode off. Wink

Was this Xerox GEM, (Graphic Environment Manager)

I remember an old dos program I had that used Gem. Xerox's ventura publisher I think. So long ago I forget now. I Moved on to Quark.
