Oh Pusser,

Get your camcorder out, and get packing.... You know you really want to Laughing Laughing Laughing

With your own very personal slant on the world it would be an instant hit.

Just imagine.... camels.... nomads.... bazzaars... mountains....sand....monkeys.....MHF members.....what a combination!!!

I would love to read the blog of your travels on this trip.

Wondering how to talk Glenn into finishing one tour and immediatly starting on this one.......

Tina

I think that is partly why I am not allowed to go. Just too many things waiting for an idiot to set them off. Sad I also think it unlikely that Nomads have a sense of humour but then again, depends what I sod up. Shocked

........I also think it unlikely that Nomads have a sense of humour but then again, depends what I sod up. ......Pusser.

Like the MHfacts member and his wife on an earlier Desert Detours trip in Morocco................ An Arab approaches the husband, saying, "I'll give you 100 camels for your woman."

After a long silence, the husband said, "She's not for sale."

The indignant wife says, "What took you so long to answer?"

The husband replied, "I was trying to figure out how to get 100 camels in the back of the Motorhome."

.....Anyway, mustn't divert the thread!

We are now getting quite a few enquiries and requests for details......most asked at this time....weather/temps.

It’s understandable that the weather it is an important issue and will be a consideration if you are planning to join this tour. I have here the Weather Chart lifted from the Most FAQ. These temps were recorded at the locations shown while I was there last month and more or less follow the proposed tour route. There was no rain and it is a very “dry” heat.

For the Spanish section of the tour, in Alhaurin el Grande, expect temps around 24/25

Ceuta 26
Tetuane 24
Chefchuane 22
Meknes 30
Imilshil 26
Tinerhir 33
Meski 34
Erg Chebbie 35

A FULL and detailed itinerary plus an extensive FAQ doc is available at info@desertdetours.com

I just had an idea to spice up the trip Detourer. Pay a small army of Nomads to surround the camp at night holding torches and flashing their swords as they swirl around and around the encampment screaming war cries and demanding the head of Lawrence of Arabia.

I'm sure this will add an experience never to be forgotten. You can also make some money selling clean underwear after the event. Cool ( should have been in marketing. I missed my vocation Sad )

This is something that happens anyway, on about the 5th night……… I also tell the clients that it is torches they are holding and swords they are swirling……… This also happens on nights 8 and 12, but by then we have run-out of women to chuck too the Nomads and look towards the older males………… Unfortunately older males and clean underwear seem to be incompatible. The females who do return [very much later] seem very secretive about their ordeal……the only visible infliction seems to be the permanent grin………
