Ok. Now I am going to feel guilty for setting this hare running Embarassed
It is amazing how many hits you will get by Googling "WiFi Pringles" or "Cantenna" Shocked

Here are a few:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantenna
http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/weblog/view/wlg/448
http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/cantennahowto.html

Otherwise, just using a WiFi dongle and mounting it in the Pringle tube or tin can works to some extent. Even better is one of those folding metal baskets for steaming your veg... Just use a dongle like a mini LNB with a satellite dish - and it obeys the law of motorhoming by having at least two uses Laughing

I suppose it's like any other wave, and could be contained or amplified in the same ways, a colander should work and be directional, but might reduce the signal going in the direction of the bottom. (stop you talking out of your 4rse)

Given the colander reference, surely the last bit should be:

"stop you talking out of your colon" Very Happy

Very useful links, thanks.

Could have done with a cantenna a few times to boost the signal to the laptop.
