I installed a 150W pure sine wave inverter because I felt the £80+ that it cost me then (£110 now) was cheaper than damaging the MacBook or its 85W power pack. However, if others have had success with a quasi sine wave inverter, then I would have thought this would be the simplest option - flexibility to use other devices too. Here is an example of a good make at just under £40.
