I see there is nothing about gas consumption on the FAQ forum. There are often question about it or related to it. I posted this a year ago, it might be a bit nebulous but could it form the basis of a FAQ? Any comments?
Gas consumption
You should be able to work this out for yourselves from the appliance handbooks. I did and came up with the following:
From the handbook to my fridge, consumption given at 0.27Kgms per 24hrs on Hi setting.
So if you ran a fridge continually on gas, a full 13 Kgm bottle should last
just over 48 days if you were not doing any cooking or heating.
I rarely use the heating in summer and cook with gas probably 3 to 4 times per week. Lets say 250gms per meal ?
Water heater is rated a 120gms per hour, lets say it is used 2 hours per
day.
So if you were on gas only, consumption per week would be :
Water heating ...............0.24x7 = 1.68Kgms
Fridge ..........................0.27x7 = 1.89Kgms
Cooking 4 days ...................... = 1.00Kgms
Total per week ..................... = 4.57Kgms
It looks as though it is quite feasible to go 3 weeks on a full 13kgm
bottle.
If you used a hook up every day, only cooking would use gas in a modern van these days. if the figures are correct you could go 13 weeks before running out.
In actual fact I have never run out of gas on continental trips. I take two full 13Kg propane bottles and even on a 2 month trip to Norway, where some heating was required, I have survived without a top up. With 100 days a year all round use I only use 2 to 3 13KG bottles but I mostly use hook ups.

Fantastic was just a bit worried as going to France today and taking a 13 and 6kg full so that should be enough although four of us at it might use a bit more. Someone reckoned 1kg per day including heating can't remember where it was now.

Useful addition to FAQs (i knew there was a useage rate thread somewhere)
I think I agree with Zebedee about showing the other calcs perhaps inc the camping gaz 907 because like me many manage on just one of these.
That will help illustrate the lower end of useage and its quite clear from posts about gaslow refillables that there is a huge range in useage of gas.
Perhaps a link to a downloadable spreadsheet?

We filled up before our trip abroad at the end of April. This lasted 8 weeks and since then we have had a further two weeks away at home.
I thought the LPG may need topping up and was rather embarrassed to send Val in to pay the £1.68 owing.
We carry an 11kg Gaslow plus a Gaz bottle as back up we have yet to empty the LPG.
There is of course a simple explanation we usually stay on HU only use the gas for showers, fridge and heating when HU unavailable.
I always cook outside the van.

I guess a generalisation as you have presented is great for extended use and a good guide.
I tend to be economic in all my activities including 'work'. So my gas consumption tends to be much less.
I changed the UK Calor bott for one full and one almost empty French botts about a year ago when we bought the van. I am still trying to use up the remains of the almost empty bottle after 4 weeks away in the van and a few odd days.
No one needs to worry about running out in France. A 13kg French replacement with regulator is less than €30 and you have a full bottle.
Location: Bideford - a good place to test juddering Fiats and electric bikes.

For what it's worth our averge gas (propane) consumption has been 0.38 Kg per day over 65 days use during our first 10 months of motorhomeship
All cooking and water heating on gas and 50% on non-hook up so that's 50% on gas fridge. Space heating diesel.
