Everything has to change - that is the Microsoft way. Tried using the new version of T*rd (rhymes with Word)?

My daughter used MS Office for years at work then when she had Babe#1 had to buy her own netbook that has new version of T*rd and the air was blue for weeks as she tried to work out how to do thing all over again.

Never mind the "The future is bright - the future is Or.. errr...... Apple"

In 'preview' it shows about 5 pictures) not that they are in my picture files but when I click on Save OK just to see if I am making progress the 'An error is preventing your slideshow from working' In XP My pictures is under Documents but at least you can get them all in one action. In Vista theres 'Links' including pictures in blue, then scroll down and theres a yellow folder 'Pictures' If one picks Windows Picture Gallery, unless you tag them with the same name (which is not the point of it) you can only choose one picture. The keyboard jumping all over the place as well and I feel like chucking it in the bin Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad PS: is T*rd slang for Vista?

The Oggies or anyone- what do you class as the Pictures Default Folder Question

Yes probably, as well as for "Word" - please note that Word is itself a four letter one.

When you get to the stage that I showed you : use pictures and videos from:

there is then a browse button next to it, click on that.
should give you a list Browse for folder, list will look something like

Desktop
*Chris* or whatever name you have on laptop
Contacts
Desktop
Documents
Downloads
Favourites
Links
Music
Pictures****

I clicked just on this pictures not the sub folders

also clicked on shuffle contents on the previous screen, this dipslays your pictures randomly from the sub folders

hope this helps

The Oggies, your last post was good, because I had duplicated my pictures folder. The pictures link is in blue as is the others you have listed and I have the same now. Whether it is ok to do what I have done - created folder (which is in yellow) for each group of photos - these are subfolders when I click on the blue folder 'pictures' I have the pictures selected as per your guide and the preview shows perfectly and once it actually worked, now is has reverted to "An error is preventing your slideshow from showing. If I used the other option 'Windows Gallery' It would be difficult as I have tagged m.ost of the photos (the purpose to find a particular photo.

Am not sure, from some of the things that you have mentioned your laptop doing , cursor moving etc, I would suspect that you have got some issues with your laptop. Would it be possible for you to back up all your photos and important documents and then reset your laptop back to its factory settings (format). You should have a system restore cd/dvd or it should be installed on a seperate part of your hard drive. Failing that you can can do system restores back to a time when you know your computer was working properly. The factory restore is usually better though as it also cleans out all the crap.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that Chris, the propblem with going back to manufacturers settiings is that all the programs on it - I don;thave the software to load again. I think as you say the machine has got faults -keyboard is a nightmare. If I could get a new battery for my HP Question Exclamation Its not really importmant to have all my photos as a screen saver, the slide show on any of them works perfectly well, just did it on the hp and its quite nice to use shuffle and quess where Question Wink Not going to pursue it now it is taking oo much of my time and I need to concentrate on sorting my pics and contributing to my photo gallery on MHF,
Thanks for all your help Chris, much appreciated.
