With most modern PC's the USB stick will be recognised immediately it is plugged into the computer as another datastore. Just use it as an extra hard drive dragging and dropping files.

Sort of on topic, make sure that the USB stick isn't the only place she's stored here homework - in case it gets lost or even stolen! I've had to do a mercy dash to school before now to recover the USB stick left in the school computer.

And, off topic, make sure that you have a backup strategy in place for her computer, even if it's writing her document directory to a CD once a month (or more often). If all her GCSE work gets lost if the PC fails it's a lot to recreate. Perhaps look at something like Syncback
