Great! Me too, once i've got the basic figured out that is... thus the info request in forums.

That was day 2 - an over night on the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam! It's the only GPS which is a best-guess value.

They're all over night parking spots, camp sites or camperstops, so position at midnight taken manually from "TOMTOM>HELP>WHERE AM I?"

The ambition is for a jpg map charting our path & progression for our blog:
suzyandpaulontour.blogspot.com

It's also a geeky thing to do.

Much appreciate the file - Will try it in the morning, it's time for nightcaps here in France!

Hi using "Tyre" the only way I can see is to plot the route manually, think I will have a bit more of a play. Laughing

Hi try this its nearly right. Laughing I had to edit all the dates, by putting a 1 in front for June, a 2 in front for July and so on. Afterwards I thought if the dates were in American order, month, day, year that would do it, as Tyre sorts by the first number.

Hi all,

Many thanks to those who've put that extra special effort in here.

the result of Olley's file, dropped into Google Earth, can be viewed as my attachment.

Is there any possibility you could detail the process step by step?? just incase i am able to add extra data, like place names etc...

It's a shame you can't show a political map overlay on GE, rather than terrain, but hey we can't have everything!

It'll be on the blog by the end of this week...

Cheers.

Hi Paul its fairly straightforward, load it in to excel, change the columns to longtitude, latitude, date, edit the date format to month, day, year, I think excel will do that for you if you format the column and choose date and select that format from the drop down list, then save as a .csv, their is no need to sort the data as poiedit will change the columns to show the date first, and sort on it. load into poiedit and save as a .ov2, load into tyre and save as a .kml or .kmz

I haven't played with tyre a great deal so it my be possible to load the .csv straight in to it, if you wanted to show tracks over more then one year you would have to change the date format to year, month, day, I don't think excel will do this for you, but I am no spreadsheeter.

And I had to take out the poi in the sea as tyre didn't like it. Very Happy You can put a comma after the date and add a description but not another column, as tomtom only accepts 3 columns.

Hope that makes sense, as I have had some vino. Very Happy
