The marks are fuzzy, and slightly transparent too !!

Well that doesn't sound like a physical problem with the actual sensor to me, more like something (or 3) getting in the way of the light.

Have you tried hitting it hard on one side with a big hammer to see if that moves them about?

Well as it now has 3 black marks against it - probably time to get a new one.

Hi Freddiebooks,

The fuji s7000 is a 'bridge' camera and the lens is not user removeable.

There are a number of possibilities of where your problem lies.

1. Dirt on the lens is the most obvious but I hope you have already cleaned it!
2. Fungus inside the lens
3. Dirt inside the lens
4. Dirt on the sensor

The last three items would be difficult to sort out unless you are a dab hand at stripping things down.

You can confirm if there is dirt on the inside and in particular the sensor by taking a picture of a plain coloured wall or ceiling. Then in the view finder zoom in to your maximum amount and scroll around the plain coloured picture. If you see a mark then I'm afraid you are snookered.

Hope that answers your question!

Best regards

Chris
