Central locking constantly locks and unlocks.
If external caused then the indicator lights would flash, they dont and the key fob works ok.
every couple of mins will constantly go through lock/ unlock cycle!!
Any ideas??

Hi Rich

Welcome to the forum. I'm guessing it's something to do with the button on the dashboard, below the heater controls. Maybe it's lost an earth connection? I don't know if they can be taken out, but it might be a job for a dealer, especially if the van is under warranty.

Gerald

If you have not had any extra security fitted to the van then you will have to take it to a main Fiat dealer. otherwise you will have to contact the people who fitted the extra security.

Laughing I appreciate you are concerned over the problem you have but ...

It could be any number of things, bad earth, ecu, wiring loom fault, unless anyone here has experienced the same it would be hard for anyone to give exact distance help, that's why it's been mentioned you would be better off seeking help from a Fiat main dealer.

I wish we could just say "oh you need to do so&so" and it's fixed, doesn't always work like that I'm afraid Wink

I hope you manage to get to the bottom of the problem whether with help here or from a main dealer.

I would assume you are member of the RAC/AA etc so why not call them out.

We are abroad without the van but just heard from our son that the central locking has unlocked itself and refuses to be relocked!
In addition, when he switched on the ignition the wipers and washers started working at full speed. Central locking cannot apparently be overidden to lock cab doors manually so told him to rig bike locking cables between the door-pulls.
We do have an aftermarket cat 1 alarm fitted. Van left on hook-up.

After searching this site I found "RJWales" had a similar problem in Nov'09 that turned out to be the ECU. If "RJWales" looking in.... how did your repair go?

Anyone else had the same trouble?

Can the vehicle be driven to a dealer or is it a transporter job?

What price is a new ECU for an '09 3.0 litre X250 with Comfortmatic?

Anyone tried "ECU Doctor" for repairs?

Not home for a couple of weeks so any advice to pass on to our son would be appreciated.
