Be careful though

Most contact switches sold to the public are normally closed (NC) where as most car alarms are normall open (NO)

If you add the wrong switch in it will make diagnosis even more complicated.

Have you been towing recently? If you armed the alarm with the trailer connected you would be flashing two lots of vehicle lights which will blow the (guess) 15Amp fuse adjacent to the unit.

Contact the installers and they will be able to tell you where it is!
