Hi folks
Looking for advice to fit an additional panel. Would it be connected in series with the existing panel or would it be wired direct to the regulator?.
I purchased off ebay one of the BP panels that were mentioned here last week, managed to get it for 170 pounds thought it was a very good price
and just 14.95 postage brill no rip off.
Just like Snelly has said in parallel (not series)
I would make the connection at the regulator but at the panel would also be fine if, as Snelly, says the existing wire is thick enough.
(BTW this was going to be the perfect thread

now I fear it will degenerate Merry Christmas)

Does the advice to connect an additional panel in parallel still apply when the original and additional panels are different sizes ?
I will be adding a 40watt panel to my existing 85watt panel and it would be convenient to parallel them on the roof. The original cables to the regulator are 4mm sq. Would this be appropriate ?
Thats kind of you chaps, Tonka and Techno, though I have the MC3 connectors already on the existing Kyocera 85 watt panel so will get some MC3 splitters from ebay >splitter< for the new 40 watt Yingli panel >Yingli panel<
I will be completely out of real estate on the roof at that.
