Having been in the past a bit of critic of how this has been rolled out I have to say that this version is quite stable and the update doesn't take that long on a WiFi link, currently at 5816 campsites.
I'm suitably impressed as I haven't had to un-install for a long time.

Pete

Is there a better online demo of this app, which takes you through it with a bit less haste.
not yet as the code is changing frequently so no use investing lots of time and effort on marketing as the look may change yet

Well,

Just spent the best part of another day, un-installing, re-installing but getting nowhere.

Interesting that iTunes say v1.3 available but app says v1.2 installed. DB says 4007 campsites with 1680 reviews so either the About screen never got updated or the app just can't handle the updates.

Guess I'll abandon it until I hear the new version is available.

Latest update.

I keep saying yes to update database and I've now noticed that if you go to the about screen the number of sites is rising. I'm now up to 4979 from just over 4000, so I'll continue until I get to Pete's 5816 and try again

I think I might wait until until it's fully functional, too much messing about for my liking, although I do support the basic idea, I just hate unfinished programming.

Same here. I love the idea and have been routing for this (and the USB version) for a long while and I'm sure once it has settled down it will become a vital addition to the MH'ers travelling essential kit.

I've got to 5079 sites and it now bombs out every time and will get no further. On a positive side I do have another 1000 sites downloaded but still short by around 800.

I agree, I know in this case it's not possible to mass beta test, but I think it should have been given free to a few of us to try and kill it before going live with an unfinished/unpolished product.

Well I finally got to 5830+ sites and some 2600+ reviews so I guess the database is up to date. Unfortunately it still crashes out during searches.

I got there by persistently trying to download the DB then switching off and leaving it for a while so I guess Les's method worked in the end.

Still too buggy for me though so will wait for update.
