Seems I was the only one with a dog of a SprintShift From Mercedes. Would not go anywhere near an Automated Gearbox again on such a Large vehicle. But My thoughts are that the previous owner hammered it to begin with.

So 'teemyob' wouldn't go anywhere near an automated gearbox on a large vehicle, what about those of us through no fault of our own (RTA injuries) can only drive automatics these days?
My experience with automatic gearboxes on M/Cs have been; a Mercedes on a purpose built one (sprintshift on a 313), on a Toyota Hi Lux Dolphin (lovely job wish I still had it but couldn't load the electric disability scooter into it) and two American R/Vs on Fords. My car is an automatic Peugeot 807.
I am looking now to downsize the R/V but what is available? I want a panel van conversion with an automatic gearbox with 3 belted passenger seats and hopefully 4 berth but 2 would do as we are planning to tow a small caravan with it. Any suggestions?
What about >these< They would probably do a layout to your requirements but not cheap!

I would look for a Mercedes Sprinter with the layout I wanted. If it is not available, maybe look to get one built?.
I certainly would not Buy a SprintShift, Agile, ComfortMatic or ShiftMatic.

Also Available as a 2 Berth
James Cook version Has 2 rear seat belts rather than the 3 of the above.
There are now quite a few Mercedes Van conversions around with twin belted rear passenger seats.
Depending on how you have the Mercedes Sprinter Specified on the production line (prior to going to the converters). You can specify towing weights of up-to 3500kG's. Ideal for towing even the big US Caravan/Trailer with slide-outs!.
Peggy - The company Peedee has posted you a link to (RS Motorhomes) are a fantastic family run company who manufacture quality, bespoke vehicles and they will more or less build you a MH to your own individual specifications. When we spoke to the owner he said he could adapt any van he built to accommodate all disabilities and within reason he could do anything his customer wanted! We were very tempted to buy a MH from RS last year as the one that we fell in love with from them was amazing - but sadly, in the end our budget wouldn't quite stretch that far so we decided upon a Burstner Elegance.
They have just introduced a panel van into their range and by all accounts it's a real beauty and I also understand, they are in the process of designing a smaller coachbuilt too. They have a factory you can visit by prior appointment and they also attend some of the outdoor MH shows.
Well worth a look at if you are looking for a top of the range, automatic MH.
