Thanks again to everyone, we called out our breakdown (so thanks for that tip Geoff) when the breakdown mechanic arrived he looked at the battery and the fuses (a fuse for the fuel gauge warning light a 25 had gone) but the battery fine and still no luck with the key code light so he will tow it in on Tues to a garage for it to be re coded. We went down today to put some extra diesel in and try to get another fuse and it started 1st time on the red key(before we'd done either) but didn't try to move it and has started three out of 5 times since on all keys so now totally baffled maybe it is the intermittent fault. Or just the way we jiggle it!! thanks again for all your help not sure now whether to have it taken for the key code diagnostics on Tues?? Surprised Confused

I'd suspect the antenna first.

Hi McGran

I do hope its not the same problem we had with ours, and it went when I was driving.

There is a post by me all about it, but it was the immoblizer which is on the fuel pump if it fails it can not be replaced without the pump so very expensive I was told £1500/£2000, also new immoblizer requires new or reprogrammed keys.

It is possible to bypass it though, but although Fiat told me how to do it I dont think they would do the work.

Good luck fingers crossed

Chris

Hi all
I know this subject is quite old but maybe more info is now available.

Also if the person chrisndeb would like to contact me who knows how to disarm the imobiliser on the pump could contact me as this info would be helpful as I cannot get motorhome off the drive without an Engine due to turning space, swift kontiki 640 s registered.
Here is the story I went to take motorhome for mot in dec 2012, had been stood a few weeks, started firt time as normal I switched the lights on to check all was fine one bulb dodgy which I replaced engine switched off, went in for a cup of tea then came back out to drive away and keycode light was showing. after some advice I removed the yellow box under the dash and took it to auto electrician who got me another one and a replacement ariel and he swapped the info from my old box onto it. £80.00 came home started up all fine. This week I book another mot start the motor home switched the lights on all fine so I switched it off. ten mins later I get in and the keycode lights is back showing its ugly face again. I would really prefer to disable this till I can take it in one piece to an auto electrician, I can see this silly thing doing this when abroad in the middle of nowhere.
Look forward to hearing anymore comments or someone contacting me that has solved this Problem.
