Sonja
Hi Sonja,
Most certainly will, reckon there will be a few of those around! May not be me if I have to continue with my forced abstinence! Might be the only sober personage standing by the end of each night!
A 600mm F4 lens without a tripod......jeez, your arms must have ached a tad!!
I am Canon guy with a Canon 200mm IS F2.8 lens which I use with a Canon 2X converter for the longer shots. Not for the purists I know but works well for my wildlife shots in Kenya.
Planning to visit Slinbridge in the next month for the first time.....hope my existing kit is sufficient for some good shots. A 600mm Canon lens, even S/H would not get past my senior management!!

Hi,
I had a monopod but as it was the first time with this lens and first time manual focus so it took a lot of effort.
However the good news is the gimbal has arrived so had a play this evening and looking forward to using it in earnest over the Easter weekend.
Don't think you will have a problem with your combination at slimbridge. As I only took the D3X with this lens on I could not get down low. Will make sure I take the D700 with either my 300 f4 or 70 - 200 2.8 VR next time. Looking forward to going back.
There is a bit of work going on and the guys I went with said there are normally a lot more birds. But to be honest there was more than enough to see.
