Hi there.
I'm looking to take a year or so out travelling. Wanting to buy a MH. Needs to have garage type space,Paraglider,Paramotor kit etc, also moped etc.
Have around £20,000 available.
Only me, maybe visitors to join as I travel about, so max needed is a 4 berth.
But as I will be living in this for a year or more looking for something roomy.
Tempted by a Hymer or a Rimor.

NEED YOUR GUYS HELP IN CHOOSING A GOOD MH, so needing your advice etc.

Will be much appreciated

Martin

visits the shows and spend it looking round the wide variety of vans
write a list of things you do and don't like and anything you really need

ie garage - if you are going to live it you will need one with a decent size shower and bed - try these out - stand in shower - lay in bad - open every cupboard - really think about the amount of storage and how its laid out - our battery is in the middle of the largest storage area and severly restricts it

the most important thing to consider is payload - as you need to make sure this will be sufficient to carry anything you want to carry and any passengers - there are quite a few vans out there with remarkaboly low payload ( many dealers don't even know what this is!)

good luck

Hi Martin.

Go to the shows, have a good look around, DO NOT wast time by asking the sales staff for advice, but have a look at the MH parking area, and ask the owners for advice, most will be happy to show you around, and point out the good, and bad points,

Make up a "Must have List"
"Like To Have List"
"Must Not Have List"

Your pay load??? - only take what you need, not what you ""think"" you may need,

If Wild camping, battery capacity, = big batteries = heavy load, solar panels, 240 volt ??? gen set ???

Depends on the MH, you may be able to uprate the chassis to carry another 300 - 400 Kgs,

Convert to Auto Gas, for the domestic equipment, then you can fill up the gas at the garages accross Europe, at less cost than the bottles,

Security systems ???

All the above will cost ££££

So do you wish to spend the total amount on the MH, or, have a bit set aside for the extra things you need ???

I can say one thing, you have started the best way possible, = on this forum, you will get honest replies, Wink

Good luck Colin

PS Bought my MH from a MH Forum, £3000 less than a garage, low milage, and have been offered more than I paid for it, but have no intention of selling Laughing

Have fun Very Happy
