My Meos 19" runs fine on a direct 12v connection. You do need a good thick, juicy wire to connect to and also make sure if you use a cigarette type connector that it makes a good contact with the socket.

Hi, I have a Meos, at the moment its about 6" from the dustbin. Ive had it just over a year, I have spent more time on site messing with the damd thing than watching it, My signal meter showed three or four lights, tele said no signal, then it started going sick, (dry joints)had it repaired, then it went again, and again two week ago on site, feeling really peed off with it I went straight down to Asda and bought a 19" Luxor with DVD, came back and got incredable pitures, I couldnt believe the poor quality I had been putting up with. Ok the Luxor does not have 12V facility, but hey its very rare we are not on hook up sites, I certainly would'nt reccomment Meos.
You would be better off running the TV from an inverter over 300 watt as we do when not on hookup. We have had a 15 inch bush set for 5 years now with no problems.
I had trouble with the 24" tecknica, it too would cut out if the dvd was used. When I changed to 150 watt inverter it was perfect.
I certainly would not expect a 24" OEM TV using old technology from UMC to run on anything less than a 150W inverter. In fact you could still be borderline on that.

I accept that the TV may have had a fault, but if you were showing a signal on a meter and the TV showed no signal, had you done a first time installation every time?
If you fail to carry out a full reset/first time installation every time you go to a new site, you will have exactly the same problem with the Luxor.

we`ve had a 15" meos 12\240v tv\dvd for about 18 months and its been great as a tv especially on 12 volt (we only use a single 85 amp battery) the dvd has gone down the swanny but the last combo we had did the same.I think next time i`ll get better quality seperate units
