hi everybody slags off fiats on here well our company has 6 new transits every one still in warranty and all but 2 have egr problems . when you turn off the engine it sounds like someone is grinding there teeth very loud. fords no about the problem its the egr valve but because there is no fault code come up they wont change the valve. i have a fiat 3 litre its done 20.ooo miles never had a single problem with it apart from slight vibration when reversing uphill which i give a little more rev s and it goes away. stop moaning about fiat its the best van on the market for m/h rant over tude o and its my 2nd fiat i did 12000 mls in that without any problems . tude
Your van may be good, but Fiats standard of customer care was somewhat lacking.
Yes-Its the lies they are prepared to keep telling us which gets my goat, more so than the the problems themselves. They cant be trusted in my book and I would never have a good word to say about them I'm afraid.

Our First M/H was on a 2007 Mk7 Transit 2.2 130 BHP and we had a good few problems with that. I got sick of going to the dealer with it, they took a long time and a good few visits to fix the problems. Some of the problems they could not fix like the dash lights flickering, easy to stall, running very hesitant after it had been stalled for a few minutes, electric window not working intermittently even after it had been replaced, ECU light coming on, water in fuel light coming on for no reason, etc.
These are all known problems if you go onto the Transit forum and our van had them all as well as the spongy brake problem.
We sold the M/H with 9,000 miles and less that 2 years old.
We now have a Fiat 3.0 which is just over 12 months old with 6,000 miles. It has only been back to the dealer for a service and that is it.
As with any vehicle you get good ones and bad ones. dont even get me started on my last VW Golf TDI car.

Richard...
Its all well and good if your van is a good'n Richard, but if things do go pear shaped, that's when you see the true fiat that I am on about, especially as you have a 3l. I hope yours stays safe by the way.

Hello Tude, I quite agree Fiats are the best vans with one major proviso. If your van is faulty and Fiat will not admit the fault your theory falls flat, in that case Fiat vans can be a disaster. I am glad there are many happy owners, it would be nice if they would return the respect and concede that some other owners are getting very shoddy treatment from Fiat.
I guess "I'm alright Jack" is just human nature, Alan.
Panic Panic we definately have this problem along with the battery warning light on.
First Ford dealer mention this egr valve then said they couldnt do anything as it wont fit on there ramps.
We are trying Preston Evans Halshaw on Friday but we are desperate to return to France as our dog is in kennels there (thats a whole other story)
Is it something you can drive with or what?
we have a fleet of transits and are always doing egr valves on them along with other things but as we sort out our own warranty in house its a bit easier we don't have to put them on a ramp to change the egr its a bit of a hassle but not has much as putting it on the ramp
Thanks Badger is it the sort of thing you can take with you yo refit if it happens again abroud (assuming dealer fixes it on friday)
Any ideas about the battery warning light? Is graham correct that they are un connected?
