Any ideas about the battery warning light? Is graham correct that they are un connected? Question

the valve is more than likely very expensive to buy out of warranty and it depends on you mechanical ability to weather you could do it its not major hard but fiddly to do
as for the warning light it could be the alternator at fault as we have changed a few but its hard to say without looking or putting the diagnostic tool on it

I agree on the Transit issues with the EGR

I purchased a 5 month old Chausson based on the transit 2.4 twin rear wheel (mark 7 ) and had to get the EGR valve replaced at 10 miles

It also let me down in France when it started overheating and spent two days in a Ford garage in Rodez with a leaky water pipe

Saying that in both cases it was completed under warrenty (even in France) and both garages were more than helpful

I have owned six different Ducato's always 2.8 and have never had a problem,

In our part of the NW tude, service on the Sevill brands is virtually non existant.
Our Ford Dealers however have no problems accomodating motorhomes, and my experience with our local one is good upto now.

I bought a new 2009 model, and after approx. 4000 miles when you switched off the ignition and took the key out of the ignition, the engine was still running !

The vehcile was fixed under warranty for the issue, some form of remapping was done.

Last year after 13000 miles, its developed a fault where the battery was being drained and would not start under its own steam, when jumpeed it was fine. It took eight weeks in a ford garage before they found the problem. It was seemingly the faulty towbar electrics that were drawing all of the power from the battery

That was a stressfull eight weeks......
