hi all is anyone using the windblocker shades
http://tinyurl.com/39z6hey

are they anygood? seen them at shows with the fan, but in the real world do they block out wind? torn between them and there ease of use, and a 4.5 m privacy room, clip system which from what i gather is quite a task to put up and down, any opinions will be welcome

thanks mark

Don't have either, but spent an evening in an awning with the wind breaker shades, they were very effective, really noticed the difference after being outside in the wind.
Regretted not getting any ourselves.

We`ve got both, only ever used the windblocker, does what it says on the tin.
Safari room ok if you intend staying on site for a week or so as its a pain to put up and dismantle whenever you want to move.

We bought one a fews ago nice and light and do cut out the breeze. Not to happy with the elastic loops that you peg it down with , But quick and easy to put up and take down.

Very pleased with the Windblockers bought at Shepton Mallet this year.

To hold down the bottoms we thread bamboo canes (very light to carry) through the elastic loops then hold these down with 2 pegs on each strip.

Quite impressed with the way in which they stop the rain coming in too!

We bought the front part of the windblocker sunshades at the Peterborough Show. Not used them yet though but interesting to hear people's comments about them especially the way to hold down the front with canes.

We're very interested in these. Peggy I like the idea of canes and just 2 pegs, thanks.
Our Motorhome is quite low. Would it be easy to shorten the pieces. I presume you need to keep the elastics for the flexibility they give.

Thanks

Jan

We have a full set for our 4.5mtr awning.. Had them for a year and used them mainly when abroad in sunnier spots ie Spain..
Think they are great and always get lots of comments about them when on sites.. They weight next to nowt and fit in 1/2 a carrier bag !! Yes they block wind, shade you from the sun and to a degree shield you from the rain.. Plus you can still be nosey and see outside while drinking your lager !!

The cross bars are a bit "heath robinson" being line props ! But it works. The elastic bottoms have not given any issues but now will try Invicta's idea on the bamboo poles Smile

We've still got our Fiamma safari room BUT never use or take it with us now..

For just over £100 for the set, well worth a go..

Used ours In Javea last month for the first time.
Really happy with them, we are thinking of selling our Safari Room.
Catches the wind a bit but does not cause a problem.
Yet to use them over here probably be fine on a fine day out of the wind, although they handled the wind in spain in the mornings without any trouble, they are easy to take down and put up, takes minutes.
