A 450D + lens on there is £100 dearer than on the Canon Ebay site.

London Camera Exchange has stores across the country and do some pretty good second hand bargains without perhaps the risk of ebay. If buying new, Warehouse Express is an excellent mix of good prices and services.

Have you tried the local Police/Parks Department to see if it has been handed in. There must be some honest people about - after all there are some motorhomers!

Thanks for everyone's input, even for Colin's oh-so-temping £26k Hasselbald option Laughing

After all the advice, I've conveniently ignored most of it, and bought a Canon EOS1000D + 18-55mm lens kit from Argos (£375)

I looked at a lot of the online options, and one which looked like a great deal turned out to be a refurb in the small print. I know they're probably perfectly fine, but I really wanted something I could trust, with the full Canon warranty.

The initial impression is that it's lighter than my 400D, and feels a little less solid because of it. The battery is a different design, of course Rolling Eyes Anybody need a 400D charger by any chance?

I'm off out in a minute to take some early evening shots Smile I must try not to leave it on a bench Crying or Very sad

I lost it in Germany. I asked in the local Tourist Information place, and left our phone numbers and email address. There was no local police station. We also asked in two local bars, and on the Stellplatz site. I think we tried to cover all the bases.

Thanks once again for the suggestions and support. Time to move on Wink

Gerald

Look forward to seeing pics taken with it Smile

Be interested to know how it compares to the 400D.
