Probably should have looked at your link first Pippin before I replied.

There is no warning light on the dash for HSA so presumably don't have it.

Control freak technology isn't for me. So I wouldn't consider having it fitted, if I had it I'd be more likely to have it turned off. I don't want the anti-stall system either. I should have had it turned off after the incident in the Highlands. If I'm feeling brave enough I might chance a visit into a Ford dealer here and see if I can have it switched off. That should be done under warranty, free, but I'll ask.

Thanks

Keith

Have heard others claim that they have HLA but no light Wink
Having said that, it's not the easiest to spot Rolling Eyes

I don't think I do. There was no feeling of any assistance when I was just using the clutch and the revs dropped and wouldn't climb so I'm thinking not but I will look out for it next time ..... once the smoke clears from the clutch!

Thanks

Keith

HLA does nothing with the engine speed - when the system senses the vehicle is on a slope it allows you to take the hand brake off, your foot off the brake, and holds the brakes as you increase engine speed and the system releases the brakes as you take up drive with the clutch .
However, if the hand brake is not fully released, the system does not release the brakes and causes much clutch smoke as you attempt to drive off with the brakes on Evil or Very Mad

I'm getting this checked out and the ASS is getting turned off and if I have ( I'm sure I don't) this HSA/HLA it's getting turned off too.

If anyone from Ford is reading this, put these on the no-cost options list. I don't need you to help me control a motor. Thank you.

Bit early for this, still grumpy,

Keith

Reminds me of a sign in the rear window of a MH at Newbury.

"In the morning I sometimes wake up grumpy - other times I let him sleep"
