Probably should have looked at your link first Pippin before I replied.
There is no warning light on the dash for HSA so presumably don't have it.
Control freak technology isn't for me. So I wouldn't consider having it fitted, if I had it I'd be more likely to have it turned off. I don't want the anti-stall system either. I should have had it turned off after the incident in the Highlands. If I'm feeling brave enough I might chance a visit into a Ford dealer here and see if I can have it switched off. That should be done under warranty, free, but I'll ask.
I don't think I do. There was no feeling of any assistance when I was just using the clutch and the revs dropped and wouldn't climb so I'm thinking not but I will look out for it next time ..... once the smoke clears from the clutch!

HLA does nothing with the engine speed - when the system senses the vehicle is on a slope it allows you to take the hand brake off, your foot off the brake, and holds the brakes as you increase engine speed and the system releases the brakes as you take up drive with the clutch .
However, if the hand brake is not fully released, the system does not release the brakes and causes much clutch smoke as you attempt to drive off with the brakes on
