Thought you fellow tight arse's might find this useful.

If you have the project 2000 TV mount and you think it's too high which can lead to it being difficult to see... you have a couple of options:

1. Hand over a ridiculous £100+ for the add-on vertical sliding mount from Project 2000.
2. Make your own for around £6 all in.

If you choose No.2 here's what you need.

You need 2 of these:27mm drawer runners

4 bolts to fix your TV to the drawer runners [mine were M4x10]
4 nut & bolts for fix the top of the drawer runners to the Project 2000 mount.

Measure your TV bolt spacing... mine was vesa 75mm, your could be this or vesa 100mm.

Drill two 6mm holes either 75/100mm apart [as above] in the bottom of the runners, repeat process with the other end of the runners.
Get the nuts and bolts with the smallest heads you can, so it won't foul the runners.

IF you want to strengthen the whole assembly, then I would recommend using 2mm aluminium plate fixed to the runners.

These pics may make it easier to understand.

Hope this helps

Hi Wilse,

Excellent,just what we need.

Does it all fit back in the cupboard with the extension on?

Must do some careful measurements on ours.

I think the title of your post is possibly too specific that's why it isn't
attracting the views it deserves.

Helen

Hi there

Yes it fits back in the cupboard.

The runners are a little stiff as they've not been used many times.
I was going to [still might] make a 100mm square aluminium plate that is sandwiched between the TV and the runners to make it a bit more robutst... I'd do the same at top as well.

My digi box lives in the cupboard and when in transit the TV sits on the the digibox with a bit of foam/non slip gubbins just to keep it still.

The locks on the project 2000 bracket do still work.

I will be trying to think up a locking mech next.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks again Wilse.

The runners arrived day after ordering from ebay.

I got the counter sunk bolts from Homebase, dearer than Screwfix but had to be ordered from them and was undecided what we would do with the remaining 96 nuts!

Now all fixed and no more stiff necks.

Helen.

Thanks Wilse,

Thanks quite a solution! It looks good and a damn site cheaper. I'll see if I can get the parts and try it.
Thanks
Steve
