Firstly, apologies for not responding to all your suggestions - I thought I got an email when someone responded to one of my posts - no email and I thought no-one had responded! Trawling through old posts yesterday and I found that loads of you have! Thank you!

To update - we've been on the road now for about 3 months. No oven, no grill - cook just about everything on the gas hob. Are without EHU more often than with it. And we are eating just fine! Haven't missed anything much, except the occasional pizza. We have the double skillet, which seems to be able to cope with just about anything, although I still haven't got around to trying a cake in it!

I can't imagine full-timing without an oven (or even the occasional EHU) - that all sounds a bit too basic. However, I have made a very successful cake in a Dreampot (made by the makers of the Cobb BBQ and works like a slow cooker). Just need a gas ring for the initial boiling period. The Cobb will bake, but that's OK in the summer but not so good in 3" of snow Laughing

Of course your plan may be "no cooking facilities so hubby will have to take me out to dinner" - in which case, good one, hope it works Wink

You should have no problems using your Cobb in 3" snow as once it is lit you can bring it inside, it won't mark your worktops or floor as it is cool on the outside, works as a heater as well.
