But what do you mean by Photo or Office in the title?

A scanner is a scanner no difference (so far as I know) between use types any more - there used to be years ago but not now.

If it's a standard flatbed scanner you just select what sort of image you want to scan in the software.

Hi stanner,
There is an office model and a photo model - the only difference I can see is that the office has an auto document feeder, for the photo model it is optional.

With that scanner (if it is A4 Flatbed) you could do 4 - 6x4's at each scan.

Hi,

If the V500 is the office and the V600 is the photo as it seems to be there is an important difference.

The V500 can only apply Digital ICE to negatives whereas the V600 can apply it to prints as well.

Digital ICE is a neat bit of software that can remove scratches etc from photos. It is worth having if you can afford the extra cost.

I guess the photos you are wanting to digitize are pre digital cameras and so may be a few years old.

PM me if I can help any more

Yes if that is the difference then that is the one to go for - unless you are digitising lots of Docs for archiving you don't need a sheet feeder.

Shame you aren't closer, I have a Canon printer/scanner/copier you could have for nothing - all it needs are some new cartridges and it's as good as new.

I have the Canonscan 5600F, purchased to do just the same job of loading all the photos, slides and negatives I have from 1961 - phew, what a job

I have to say that has been absolutely perfect on all three mediums and would recommend it wholeheartedly
