We have stored our now thirteen year old van at non-CASSO sites for the past seven years. During which it has been insured with Safeguard, Saga, and now Comfort. Each insurer has known exactly where it is stored and the security limits of those sites and it has never been an issue with any of them.
I discussed our new van with Comfort in case the increased value would be an issue with them but all they said is they would want a tracker to be installed in addition to my proposed VanBitz Strikeback alarm. And their quote was only a few pounds more than our existing policy.

We are in the process of changing from a Cassoa site to a non Cassoa site to open on the first of Feb. Our van will have been parked in front of our house for six weeks waiting for the new site to open. Now from what I'm reading, in all probability should the van be stolen I won't be able o claim as it won't be at the designated storage.
This in it's self raises the question is the van insured against theft at anytime it is parked on a public road. ?
What is the distinction between "parked" and "stored". ?
We often arrive home late at night unload and the the van to the storage the next day. So this raises the question of how long can we park our van outside our home before the insurance company deems it to be stored on a public road at the owners home. ?
Not much use as a definitive answer, but basically "the odd day or two" is fine, anything more needs notifying. A good guide could be Steph's ongoing conversation with Comfort about their (seemingly unwritten?) rule that when on holiday the van should not be left unattended for more than 36 hours. Defacto what that's saying is if the van is left stored somewhere other than your usual location for 36 hrs, they want to know.
Certainly when my motorhome was stranded on my drive over Christmas, I informed my insurer (Comfort) and I got the impression from their reaction they would have required that for full cover to be maintained...I had to put it in writing (e-mail) that it was there, then once again when it was returned to usual storage location.
I'd contact your insurers if I was you Zozzer, if only to be on the safe side.
