Could you please create a US and Canada sub-forum under the Motorhome Touring section? There are UK and Continental ones (with sub-forums) but none for Stateside road trips
We're doing one next year, and I'd like to get a good discussion going on people's US or Canadian trips.
And while nuke's at it, maybe close this forum, which only serves to maintain confusion with a handful of posts per year (err, a couple of them mine ....)

Thanks,

I shall watch with interest, I have long been considering such a trip but family ties have been an inhibiting factor.

Easy to say but not for the length of time I want to go for.

Dave,
Did consider that when I found out a vehicle I was interested in couldn't be imported new into the UK. That is ok when you know exactly what you want or can buy off the shelf but didn't feel comfortable in not be able to visit the maker during design and manufacturer.

Don't forget you will have to have owned and insured the vehicle to be imported at least six months before bringing it into UK tax free.
You also need to show UK Customs that you have effectively lived outside the EEC (less reasonable visits) for more than six months and preferably a year.
Then you must not sell the imported vehicle for at lest a year again to avoid the tax liability.
These are just the basics.
Ray.

Remember this is in the "New Features" section, so we shouldn't be talking in here, boys & girls. There was little point in my starting in "Continental Touring", hence my request to Nuke to add a section.
Now stop spoiling it, and we'll schedule in a proper discussion.
