Hi TM, You didn't Know, I didn't know either.

Then tank is underslung and it appears there are 2 tanks in one, The internal which holds waste and then a Fibre wall of some sort and then the outer casing from what I have had explained to me but he is going to supply me with photos of what he is doing when he is doing it so it will all be revealed with the next few days.
He says that the Alde has pipes running into it and around it from within the Bedroom I suppose or the garage, but he is saying it has made it more difficult because of that, He contacted Brownhills direct who didn't know that a Rapido had these tanks fitted and also Rapido (Anthony) and was given the news.

That is as much as I know

As I get pictures I will post them. Very Happy

Just found it described and pictogramed in the latest Le Voyager (Pilote Group) brochure.

They supply factory fit VB air suspension to their Mercedes 3,5 & 6t ranges including the Alko.

Seems fitment of the air suspension restricts certain options. Inc size and placing of tanks.

I see they have redesigned the Alde piping arrangement to include the dashboard.

The wording on the waste tank is ....

"waste water tank protected against frost with an external insulation (except for the vehicles fitted with air suspension)"

That sounds about right, What they have said is that they are redesigning the shape of the Tank and moving it towards the rear about 10cm to enable the Air suspension to fit, They have also said that the waste tank will hold a few more litres than standard.
That I will welcome because that is the only thing I was a bit disappointed in, The fresh water holds 200ltr which is ample but waste only 74litre, but having said that I have never been in need to empty whilst still in situ.

Well it is finished and I am VERY impressed, The Suspension is amazing, It used to sit up at the back end and was hard, Now it is level and the suspension is brilliant, No sway, No Rock, No Hard bumps, Brilliant.

The waste tank has gone from a measly 70 litre to an incredible 163 litre, The workmanship is outstanding, Will post photos asap.

I can't wait.

Do I get to test the ride if we bump into each other?

But of Course, It is brilliant when ignition is on and you walk in rear thereby putting more weight in back you can hear the compressor putting more pressure in to level it up.

Hi

We have a Hymer B675 on a Mercedes 518 chassis rated for 5000kg with twin wheels. I guess this is pretty much the same as you have. I was wondering if you could let me know what system you have fitted by the people at Doncaster.

I am looking for a fully automatic system as I had it on my Land Cruiser used for towing a caravan. It was great, giving a much better ride that normal suspension and also took care of the height perfectly.

The only drawback is probably the cost - but who cares.

Cheers

Michael

The system I have is the VB full air system <Here> it is as you want a fully automatic system and is the one recommended and is serviceable by Mercedes, I would also very highly recommend the installers at Doncaster they have done an absolutely excellent job.
