Did you 'mh' the Revival, if so where did you stay and did you take the van into the circuit? We did the Silverstone Classic and Oulton Park Gold Cup plus British GP this year but couldn't make the Revival or Festival of Speed, but next year ..............
Met Stirling Moss at Oulton and gave him an old programme I had 2 copies of (1961 Gold Cup). He was in remarkably good shape. Wonderful to see Lotus 25 winning in the hands of Andy Middlehurst who lives near me . First saw it being 'launched' in the early 60's at Aintree British GP with Colin Chapman sat in it showing off! Bob Dance, one of the original Lotus mechanics worked on the car at both meets this year, brilliant! Can still see Jim Clark in it!
Images are beautifully sharp, nice panning, and warbirds look great against that dark sky!
Thanks Chris for awakening some happy memories.
My dad taking me to Crystal Palace and watching in awe as Hillman Imps and Anglias were racing these incredible american V8,s!!
Happy days.
Thanks for the compliments and glad you enjoyed them. I have so many more, but have not had the time to go through all 1300 yet.

Hi Jagman,
On this occasion I only went with photography friends on the Friday. But I enjoyed it so much we will be going for the whole weekend next year in the RV. Goodwood have a site for camping but I am guessing it will not be hook up.

Can you let us know some of the technical info - which camera, lens etc
Hi Dave,
It was a Nikon D3X with a Nikon 70 - 200 f2.8 VR lens. The D3X is a full frame camera and takes very large pictures of 24.5mp which equate to 6048 x 4032 pixels! IE large! This allows cropping to a great extent but still keeping high image quality.
I was on shutter priority and set at 1/160 to 1/320 ish which is why you have the movement in the wheels.
The camera was set on high speed multi-shot so when I pressed the shutter it kept taking pictures. WB was re set every now and then using an ExpoDisc. I was on single point af focus and tracked the driver so he/she would be in focus.
Each shot was panned. So the camera was on a mono pod and I tracked the car. That is why the background is blurred. I only record in RAW and edit in photoshop CS4 or CS5 depending on if I am using my iMac 27" or Mac Book Pro. Main work was a small amount of RAW sharpening followed by cropping and a curve adjustment.
If it interests you here is the exif data for each photo in order

Very interesting, particularly the exif data. I have the 70 - 200 but only the D200. I have to say though this lens is the best I have ever used, apart from the 24 - 70!
Love the pics, especially the "normal" car ones, thanks for posting them.
I remember a doctor who lived nearby driving a cream Borgward Isabella, when the only other car in the street was an old sit up and beg Ford Pop in matt green.
Would love to see more photos, especially Anglias or Capris if you have any.
Belting good pictures, I really like the Fords. I can stiil remember the astonishment I felt as a 13 year old, seeing the '68 Le Mans finish on the news, when '1075' came home first, not much more than 100 metres in front of the second placed Porsche 908. The car did a tour of the Ford dealerships after that, including Chambers of Sutton. Until then I had never been aware that such fabulous cars existed. What a beautiful machine!
